Once again the Commonwealth will be hosting a military style full auto shoot at OK D-Day.

The shoot will be held on Wednesday, June 9 and is open to everyone at D-Day 2010. It will start at about 9:30 AM and will end at about 2:30 PM. The convoy to the range will leave the Commonwealth compound at 9:00 AM, so don't be late. Please bring your own vehicle or make arrangements to ride with someone. You may also want to bring something to drink or eat. The rain date will be Thursday June 10.

This shoot is open to anyone 12 years old and older. Minors under 18 years old MUST be accompanied by a LEGAL parent or guardian. No Exceptions. Please don't ask if 11 years and 11 months is close enough, because it isn't. Have proof of age, just in case the question comes up. A legal guardian must be authorized by law and documented by the court to represent the minor in all decisions pertaining to the minor. The father of a friend or older sibling is not good enough. The father of a friend or older sibling holding a legal guardianship document from a court of law is perfect.

For 2010, the cost to register is a non-refundable $85 and you have to buy the rounds on site. The owner of the Class III weapons insists there be at least 30 shooters, before he will commit to coming. Hence, the non-refundable $85. The registration fee allows you to shoot any of the weapons offered. If you know you’re going to be there, go ahead and register. If we don’t hit 30 shooters by May 1, the shoot will be called off and I will refund all monies. Once we hit the magic number, we will take all walk-on shooters at $85 each, cash only. Please try to bring exact cash. The cost of the rounds is extremely reasonable and offsets the initial registration fee. Rounds are cash only. You may not bring your own real steel or bullets, but you can show up and take all the pics and video you want, at no charge. We had 48 shooters in 2009. This year, we are trying to offer an M2 .50 Cal. HB. We do feature various household appliances and cars for the shooters to blow up. Yes, I said BLOW UP.

If you wish to do any kneeling, squatting or prone shooting, bring some sort of pad.

There will be no off-hand or Rambo style shooting. Anyone found to be acting in an irresponsible manner will have their shooting day terminated, their rounds confiscated and they will be escorted off of the range, without a refund of any kind.

These are last years prices, but they shouldn't be too much different for this year. I will post up the current prices on belt fed rounds and loose rounds, as soon as I know them. Please don’t comment on whether you could buy the rounds cheaper than anyone else or that you were/are in the military and you had enough of shooting. This is the man’s living. If you have a Class III license, a couple of machine guns and 10,000 rounds at $.001 each, then lucky you.

Here are the 2009 weapons and bullet prices.

A Quick Briefing About the League
The CORPS are for those who appreciate well written scenario games and enjoy a little friendly head to head competition. To briefly describe the league: "We are a scenario based Sports League, not a Tournament League". The CORPS is identical to the “Big Games” you currently like so much, but with several differences. In the CORPS, unlike the Big Games, you get to play both sides of the storyline. You will experience both roles, the Good Guys and the Bad Guys. And the best part about it is that you’re in control of the outcome. Here no one leads or orders your team around, you choose which missions you want to battle in, which objectives you want to complete! Another great innovation created by the CORPS Is that it can rank teams locally, regionally, and nationally for a chance to compete in the National Championships. Also with the exclusive patent pending ArmBand Scoring System you can track your personal stats and receive recognition and achievement awards based on your personal performance.

Now that you understand the basics of the league... “Will it be your team restoring stability in Somalia or will it be another woodsball team? Good Luck! See you on the battlefield!

WARNING:
The CORPS games are addictive. So, if you and your team only like to play capture the flag against walk-ons then don't try our games. Because once you play CORPS way, you’ll never go back!

Remember there is NO COST TO REGISTER YOUR TEAM, NO TEAM REGISTRATION FEE to play in any of the CORPS regular Season Games.

b]Here is a brief/rough explanation of the league’s playing format:

The CORPS develops a theme called an Operation every year.

The Operations have 6 Missions
These 6 Missions are played out throughout the regular season, 1 different mission each month so you never play the same game twice! Your team may play in one, some or all of the Missions.

Each Mission there are 3 Games
The 1st 2 games are Mission Team vs. Patrol Team:
These games are so much fun and unlike anything you've ever played. There are missions, roles, objectives and with teams of 5 - 7 protecting or attacking 4 objectives, it is action packed for every player and there are unlimited ways to play. Throw in reinforcements, medic to be performed by the Field Medic, paint mines to be executed by the Demo Tech, Snipes, etc. etc. After your first game, it's the only way you'll want to play.
3rd Game is called the "Ambush" (we like to call it “Leave No Paintballer Behind”)
This is played out much like flag in the middle, but with a little twist. Instead of a flag, we use a dummy. The dummy’s role is a Paintballer who was injured while you and your team were retrieving to the landing site of the rescue chopper (much like most movie endings). Your objective, and that of your competitor, is to rescue the dummy (as if it's one of your team members) and carry him to the landing site and attend his wounds. This is done by applying a medic bandage.

Have you registered you team? Remember there is NO COST TO REGISTER YOUR TEAM, NO TEAM ENTRY FEE to play in any of the CORPS’ regular Season Games

Ambush Paintball is pleased to announce our Opening Day March 7th 2010!
The long awaited announcement has come. Thank you very much everyone for your patience and understanding. Please keep in mind, we ask that you do not visit the facility if you happen to recognize the location until the grand opening. This is a safety and insurance issue. If you would like to visit, please contact us directly before visiting the facility.
We have secured a facility that is over 35 acres in size and has a 3000+ square foot indoor staging area to provide you with a clean, warm, dry area to stage up for your day on the field. Indoor bathrooms, newly renovated facilities are taking the standards to expect from a paintball facility to a next level. On top of a great playing area and staging area, Operation Milsim will staff some of the most experienced refs and technicians on hand to be able to assist you with any issues that may arise!

The fields that you see in Green we plan to have available to play when we have our grand opening. The other fields that you see are in development stages, and once information is available on them, it will be provided. We are starting to experiment in CA we would like to see if there is enough support for this type of Scenario League in Canada

This post is to answer some basic questions.

Is this an all MilSim league? NO
This league does not have any strict milsim rules. The reason the league is named milsim is because we use a military ranks system to rank individual players. Many scenario teams out there already name their members Captain, Lieutenant, Sergeant, etc. so we transferred the military ranking system to rank players in this league. It makes sense for a scenario league with scenario teams. The games are based on a scenario and played in the woods with certain objectives to complete. NO strict milsim rules.

Are there uniforms? Not really
When you join you get an ID card, a full set of dog tags and two patches. The patches are not required to play in the Missions. However, if you compete in the Championships, these two patches are required. A league patch and a name patch. Simple and included when you join. There are other patches players earn while playing in the league but players can wear them at their discretion.

Where are the games played? Across the country
There are about 30 fields right now with more fields signing up each week. You can view the list of Authorized Fields on the website. If there isn’t a field near you, post in the Field Request forum and we’ll work on it.

When are the games played? All season
Each Authorized field will hold a Mission Day each month from March to September. Each month will be a different Mission and you can play in one or all of the missions. There are no team entry fees. Just pay what you normally pay when you play paintball, nothing extra like in Big Games or Tournaments.

How does my team participate? Easy as 1-2-3
1. Go to the league website and submit your team name using the Contact Us form.
2. You will get a Team ID within 24 hours.
3. Contact your field to get on the schedule for the next Mission Day.
That’s it. Show up, give your Team ID and compete in the games. All of the scores will be posted on the website and teams will be ranked locally, regionally and nationally.

What’s up with Mines? We use them
See the About The League page in the section for Demolition objective for more info.

What about prizes? We have them
There are prizes from our sponsors that league members can win based on battlefield performance.

Why haven’t I heard about the league before?
This is the last step. We have been working with field owners and sponsors for the last several months. It’s how we were able to get all the fields for our players. Now the challenge is set and we’re ready to register teams.

Why the Challenge?
This Challenge is held to introduce the league to the paintball community. If you like the league and want to your team to compete in the Championships for a chance at the National Title, become a league member. If not, thanks for trying it out and good luck!
My field will be outdoors in the southwest so there will be a lot of heat, sun, and dust. The Tippmans are a little more expensive but I feel are more durable, especially for a rental gun. Let me know if you guys think I should go with a different marker other than these two? Thank you.

Alright guys you may have heard this before, but it seems like not enough people have. As a refferee at a large feild here in Ohio my number one concern is of course safety, that is infact our goal as reffs is to provide a safe environment in which the players, of all ages, backgrounds, and skill level, can come and have fun. But my main concern here is not your safety on my feilds, but on yours. all too often I hear players talking about how they play at home: shooting point blank, or they want more excitment, so they crank their velocity up so high often our chronos dont read it correctly. Or players with malfunctioning equipment, i.e. poor lenses in their goggles. Ive seen everything from small gouges, to cracks, to a player who had driven screws through the lenses to make them "look bad-ass" if you try to look bad ass like that ill tell you right now u wont be playing on my feilds until you get a pair of rental goggles. so im ging to brek down my main concerns, as ive seen them for you:

Poor Equipment

Your equipment needs to be kept in top-notch condition, especially your lenses. Too often I see players who will play with damaged, broken, or stupidly modified goggles and lenses, i find this unnacceptable and will ask players to either rent, or borrow a pair of goggles, or sit out of play until they do. If your goggles have cracks, or gouges in them you need to have them replaced or you could wind up with serious injuries. Paintball lenses are designed specificly for paintball, and undergo rigorus safety testing before they are allowed to be sold to players, so if you have damage to your goggles, a good, solid, hard hit to your lenses may cause them to shatter, and plastic shards and paint in your eyes will do some serious damage. So if your at your local feild and you see someone with unsafe equipment, please point it out to your reff, and the same goes for at home, dont allow your friends to play with bad equipment. Another major thing i see is ill fitting goggles which can be just as damgerous if they are shot off of your head, or if they fall into your face and obstruct your vision.

Stupid players

Now that title may have been a little harsh, but lets face it, most players are stupid at some point in time during the day be it cranked velocity, shooting too close, looking down the barrel, ect.

Shooting hot All too often i hear players talk about how when they play at home they will crank their velocities way up, and ive played with players who did this. Not only is this unsafe, but it is a good way to scare new players off. When shooting in excess of safe speed limits (285-300 fps [feet per second]) you are risking not only severe physical pain and or damage, especially if at close range, but you could also damage, or break someones lenses, and with the speed at which todays markers can shoot that could be big trouble, because lets say the first shot breaks the players lenses, or nocks his goggles off his head, well he's in a pickle, but now he also has to deal with the other 14 balls that will hit him in the next one second, this player is in big trouble and probobly hurt pretty badly. A good way to keep yourselves safe is to have everyone in your group chip in and buy a pocket chronograph these run from $70-$90 and are an invaluable safety tool. Now lets say your group is all too young to work, and you cant get any cash from mom what do you do? a good way to get a ballpark velocity setting is to have one player stand behind a peice of plywood or something of the sort, then a player with a known safe velocity shoots the board, followed by another player, if the second player's hit is louder, they need to turn their velocity down. now this isnt exactly a precise way to chrono your guns, but it's better to play a little hot than extremely hot.

Shooting foriegn objects Another story i hear way too often is people who shoot things other than paintballs through their markers, at other players! I've heard of people bragging about everything from hotdogs, to rocks, marbles, and removable football cleats! DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SHOOT ANYTHING OTHER THAN A PAINTBALL AT ANYTHING! ESPECIALLY ANOTHER PLAYER OR AN ANIMAL! This cannot be stressed enough. Shooting objects like the aforementioned could seriously injure or even kill another player.

So please, play smart, play safe, and have fun

I know it's early to say but what do you think the best game for the PS3 in 2010?

1} God Of War III - Kratos will we killing gods and smacking bitches all the way to the bank

2} Final Fantasy XIII - With new charaters named Lightning and quasi real time combat. This visually stunning hype machine will show us all why it takes so long to make a FF game.

3}Heavy Rain - As a huge fan of Indigo Prophecy, Quantic Dreams seems to blend rich storytelling into a very surreal atmosphere. To say i'm excited is a gross understatement.

4} MAG -The notion of 256 players in a giant online fragfest peaked my intrest when announced last year. But can it deliver a smooth "fun" experience is still to be decided.

5} ModNation Racers - Watch out Mario Kart MNR seems to be knocking off Nintendo once cherished franchise of its pedestal with its totally customizable characters and tracks which Little Big Planet helped inspire.

What you say guys Whats your favourite one of 2010. So don't wanna play here with fun.

Hello Guys !

If you are a gamer then you better know the value of each and single bit of performance resource. There is a simple way to increase RAM and that is to duplicate or replace it. There is another method without spending a single buck. That is overclocking through PC performance management software. You better be careful with it though. Overclocking a computer's processor or memory causes it to go faster than its factory rated speed. A processor rated at 2.4GHz might be overclocked to 2.5GHz or 2.6GHz, while memory rated at 200MHz might be pushed to 220MHz or higher. The extra speed results in more work being done by the processor and/or memory in a given time period, increasing the overall computing performance of the PC.

Hi friends.

I got the new facebook, I haven't been able to find the requests for new neighbors or to accept gifts. It used to be in the top right hand corner and it's still there on some of my friends' homepages even though they have the new facebook too.
Any ideas ? How can I find my gifts and neighbor requests?
